Since early February, students from PAI 4 and PAI 5 have taken on a key role in fostering reading skills among 2nd-grade students through the Reading Buddies program. This initiative, held twice a week, aims to encourage a love for reading in younger students through the guidance and support of their older peers.
During these sessions, each primary student is paired with a secondary student, who helps them read stories, fables, and age-appropriate texts. This dynamic not only strengthens the reading comprehension of younger students but also fosters a sense of responsibility and empathy among teenagers.
It is important to highlight that this activity is part of the school library and, in addition, PAI students complete their Service as Action, fostering an autonomous and collaborative learning space among the students themselves.
The Reading Buddies program not only supports academic growth but also strengthens bonds between students of different ages, fostering a sense of community and promoting values such as respect and cooperation.
This initiative is expected to continue in future academic years, allowing more students to enjoy and benefit from this enriching shared experience.
