In the Early Years classrooms, the 1st and 2nd Grade students had a unique and magical experience to celebrate the Christmas season. In a special session, María Rodríguez, the school librarian, read them two unforgettable stories: the story of Christmas and the tale of the Three Wise Men.
The activity began in a warm and welcoming environment, adorned with Christmas lights and decorations that transported the children to a time of hope and joy. During the reading, María explained the true meaning of Christmas: the celebration of the birth of Jesus in Bethlehem, an event that marked history and symbolizes love and unity.
Through the stories, the children discovered how the Three Wise Men followed the star to the manger, bringing gifts that symbolized homage and recognition to baby Jesus. The students listened attentively and actively participated with questions and comments, reflecting on the importance of sharing and generosity during this special time of year.
María Rodríguez highlighted the significance of such activities: “It is essential for children to understand the deeper meaning of the celebrations we share with our families. Through reading and music, we help them connect with core values like solidarity, gratitude, and love.”
At Xaloc, we will continue to promote these types of initiatives that bring children closer to the world of books and allow them to discover the true meaning of the traditions that are part of our culture.
