The preparation for First Communion brings together more than 60 families

An activity that combines formative sessions for parents and children with the celebration of the Eucharist, fostering a closer and more enriching experience of faith within the family.

This Sunday, families from Pineda and Xaloc participated in an emotional gathering with a family Mass especially dedicated to students in 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grade preparing for their First Communion, along with their families.

This initiative, designed to help attendees understand and live the Sunday Mass more fully, took place in an atmosphere filled with learning, faith, and community.

Before the liturgical celebration, attendees joined a formative session where parents, children, and guardians reflected together on the themes of Advent and Communion, aligning with the feast celebrated that Sunday.

During the session, children and their families created Advent wreaths and explained the meaning of the four candles: love, peace, hope, and joy. For each candle, participants wrote a personal commitment or a wish, attaching it to the wreath, making this activity a shared and meaningful experience.

All these intentions and wishes were later presented as offerings during the Mass, adding a profound spiritual sense to the commitments and reflections shared by the families.

The activity, led by couples from both schools, provided a practical and emotional perspective on the key concepts of the Eucharist, helping attendees to integrate these values into their daily lives. Additionally, this edition included a gesture of solidarity: the collection was donated to those affected by the recent DANA storms, reinforcing the educational community’s social commitment.

This quarterly event has sparked great enthusiasm among families. The next gatherings are scheduled for February and June, solidifying this format that deepens the connection with faith and creates unique and meaningful liturgical moments for the entire family.
