The educator and writer analyzes current educational challenges, parenting difficulties, and the key role of the family in children's development in a deep and enriching talk.
Last Thursday, Gregorio Luri, educator, writer, and PhD in Philosophy, held a discussion with over 200 families from the Pineda, Avantis, and Xaloc schools. The event provided an opportunity to reflect on key aspects of education and parenting. Topics such as overprotection, excessive screen use, and the importance of habits in children's development were addressed.
During the talk, Luri emphasized the essential role of the family in education. He stressed the need to find a balance between protection and children's autonomy. According to him, excessive overprotection can hinder children's ability to face challenges and develop independently. He also warned about the risks of excessive screen consumption, highlighting the importance of promoting activities that enhance concentration, reading, and family dialogue.
Another key point was the value of forgiveness in human relationships. According to Luri, the key to building a "sensibly imperfect family," the title of one of his books, is "to love each other without complexes, first as a couple, and then among all family members." This idea resonated deeply with the attendees and sparked a debate on the importance of love and understanding within the family unit.
The event, full of learning and humor, was an enriching experience for all families. Gregorio Luri's reflections provided tools and practical advice. Attendees received guidance on facing the challenges of daily education, reinforcing the crucial role of parents in their children's development.
