Javier Rodríguez presents his new book at Xaloc Auditorium

10/11/2023

"Oír el cine" is the title of an informative analysis on the narrative importance of music in films

Ricardo Benito was responsible for introducing the event. Then, Daniel Arasa, a journalist and writer, as well as father of several former students of the school, gave an overview of the book's characteristics and the author's research trajectory.

Finally, Javier Rodríguez presented the main themes of music on the screen, which are explored in more depth in the book. Specifically, an advertisement and scenes from acclaimed films such as "The Lord of the Rings" and "Gladiator" were analyzed.

The event concluded with a round of questions from the attendees.

In this book, in the author's words, it is reaffirmed that "music in cinema is not an addition that modifies or conditions the images; music is at the very root of the audiovisual message. Its mission is always the emotional seduction of the viewer to the needs of the image, both in the film in general and in each scene or shot."

Thanks to all attendees! And thanks to EUNSA Publishing House and Troa Bookstores for organizing the event!
