Lines of inquiry as a Learning Vehicle for Primary School Students

03/11/2023

The IB promotes the development of conceptual understanding, with a focus on shaping individuals academically, socially, and emotionally

The lines of inquiry, always adapted to the classroom contexts and requirements in which they are employed, revolve around the following pillars: language learning, mathematics, and environmental knowledge both inside and outside the classrooms, in addition to the use of technology and cooperative work. Xaloc's ultimate goal is to assist students in growing as men with a balanced character and relevant professional competencies. Therefore, providing them with the necessary tools to foster curiosity about the world and learning is essential. If our students are critical and respectful of their surroundings, they will have more skills to face new challenges.

This program is based on questions that the students answer, such as how we share the planet, how we express ourselves, and what constitutes a healthy life. The dynamics encourage questioning, and the teacher does not always provide closed answers but allows the student to investigate, that is, to inquire.

In the photograph, we can see a student in the schoolyard learning about our prehistoric ancestors and their way of expressing themselves through cave art.
