The purpose of cultural outings is not only academic but also recreational, aiming to establish bonds between students and teachers. Therefore, the excursions are multidisciplinary
PAI4 students, accompanied by their teachers, disconnected from classrooms for a day, and the streets of the city itself turned into classrooms where they could learn from different disciplines: the students engaged in three very different activities, which helped them consolidate certain knowledge and, above all, share a day in a relaxed atmosphere.
Firstly, they visited the Sharma Climbing rock gym in Gavà, which is the largest in all of Spain. Founded by Chris Sharma, one of the world's best climbers, and a multiple award winner. The establishment covers more than 5,000 square meters, and the students were able to engage in various activities, some with ropes and a stopwatch, others without harnesses and with free time.
Additionally, they took part in a sustainability and recycling session at the Gavà Green Point, where they received training on plastic treatment from when the consumer throws it into the yellow container until it becomes a new product.
Finally, they visited the city's anti-aircraft shelter: as described on their website, "between March and December 1938, sixteen Gavà residents lost their lives in several bombings. Gavà was a military target due to the location of the Roca factory, where projectiles were manufactured, and the new tactics did not differentiate between military targets and civilian population. Faced with this threat, one of the responses was the construction of shelters."
Recycling and sustainability, history, sports: all activities are related to what students learn in school, but with an added value: it is active learning. Leaving the classrooms and exploring the world firsthand is one of the school's emblems, which we repeat every quarter with each stage of schooling.
