On Sunday, February 4, 2024, we carried out the 3rd excursion of the course with the Xaloc – Pineda – Avantis Family Hiking Group
On this occasion, we embarked on an orientation route through the Vinya Nova and Can Jorba area, at the foot of the Montserrat Mountain. The route, starting and ending at the Can Jorba parking lot, was designed by a set of 16 markers, covering a total of 6.5 km (5 km of orientation route plus 1.5 km back to the parking lot) and an accumulated ascent of about 260 m.
At 10:30 AM, participants began to depart, divided into different groups, to locate the markers and mark their corresponding control cards. Between 12:45 PM and 1:30 PM, the groups reached marker 16, where we gathered for lunch. After lunch, a group photo and a leisurely 1.5 km walk back to the Can Jorba parking lot.
We want to highlight that some children, encouraged by their parents, collected a couple of bags of plastic waste that were abandoned in the mountains, to take them to a trash container. This is a way to raise awareness among the younger ones and take care of the environment.
