PEDAGOGICAL PROJECT PRESENTATION
Xaloc is an authorized school of the PEP, Primary Years Program, of the IB (International Baccalaureate). This program has great international recognition, because it remains a stable, reliable and transformative option, which offers a transdisciplinary education centered on the student. Thanks to the PYP, students experience interesting, meaningful and relevant learning, as it takes place within, between and beyond traditional subjects.
EDUCATIONAL PROJECT:
Perhaps the most identifying feature of Xaloc is the personalized treatment with students and families. At Xaloc each student is assigned a personal tutor. This figure is the cornerstone of our educational project because we understand that the student, in his or her process of maturation and personal growth, needs individualized support.
The personal tutor's task is to help families nurture, care for and foster the personality of each student. For this purpose, each personal tutor has a scheduled time in their schedule to dedicate, exclusively, to each student in biweekly interviews.
In the quarterly interviews with families, in addition to academic questions, many concerns arise regarding the development of the students, such as, for example, “Will he be able to make good decisions?”, “Does he have a good relationship with his classmates?” or “what professional path best suits her abilities?”
Personal tutoring is an enriching and fundamental tool for the comprehensive development of the student.

LUNCH SERVICE

Xaloc has its own dining room and kitchen. The attention of the students is directed by the School's teachers, who work to make this service a training activity.
On the website you can check the menus for each day. Special menus are available for chronic diseases of the digestive, endocrine or metabolic systems.
Students who stay to eat at Xaloc will not be able to leave the School facilities at noon, without parental authorization.
The dining room service can be requested at the School Secretary's Office, in any of the following modalities:
- For the entire course: it is paid in ten equal monthly payments.
- For a month: the amount of the days in the month is paid.
- For one day: the ticket is picked up at the Secretariat before 11:30 in the morning.
- For any other alternative, you can consult the Secretariat.
EXTRACURRICULARS
The objective of our offer of extracurricular activities is twofold:
Collaborate with the family in the comprehensive education of students, especially through essential values and competencies such as teamwork, effort or solidarity.
Collaborate in the training and physical growth of students through an annual program that takes shape in the different weekly sessions.
We can group extracurricular activities as follows:

Typing
Given that we live in a time of constant technological challenges, knowing how to type fluently is a good basis for undertaking any technological adventure.

NEW SPORTS AREA
LIBRARY
The Xaloc Library is a physical space where many of the center's pedagogical resources come together and which is open to the entire educational community at different time slots.
It is equipped with a speaking area, computers connected to the Internet network. It has an updated collection of reference books that complement the practice of learning skills and also nourishes students with a wide range of recreational reading for all ages and in different languages.
The Xaloc Library has an agreement with the public libraries of Catalonia that allows it to cover any documentary reference quickly.
Architecturally, the space has been designed to offer users versatility that allows them to develop the pedagogical program, while at the same time it has a comfortable separate area where students find a pleasant environment to enjoy individual reading.
But the Xaloc Library goes beyond this physical space and is also present in the classrooms and hallways, providing these spaces with titles that are regularly updated and that adapt to the needs and requirements of each stage.
Finally, it has an appendix in the teachers' room with a careful repertoire of works that are sources of pedagogical reference for the teachers and all the center's staff.
SUMMER ACTIVITIES
FUN
It takes place during part of the month of June and the entire month of July. They are a set of diverse activities - swimming pool, sports, crafts, art, music, games, cultural outings and excursions, guided study - aimed at children from 5 to 12 years old (from P5 to 6th grade of Primary), with the possibility of using also the dining room service. All these activities are directed by School teachers. Limited places.
COLONIES
This activity is a good complement to the training that students receive during the course. In a different environment, we try to make them more autonomous and know how to work as a team, to reinforce the values of friendship, resilience and spirit of service.
